Joyce Holstege – Kindergarten

Bio:  I am thankful that I have been able to teach at Heritage Christian School for the past 20 years.  I received my bachelor’s degree  from Grand Valley State University with a major in English and a minor in Elementary education and reading.  Since then I have taken graduate classes in teaching reading and early education, and have attended numerous workshops and conferences in brain research and learning disabilities. I have had the privilege of teaching 4th grade and 2nd grade and I am currently teaching kindergarten.  I am thankful to be a part of the Heritage family and feel blessed to be able to introduce many new families to the Heritage Christian School experience.

Brenda Pastoor – Kindergarten

Bio:   I graduated grade school from Heritage and high school from Covenant Christian.  I then graduated from Grand Valley State University with a major in Language Arts and an Elementary Teaching Certificate.  I was the first Heritage Christian School graduate hired back to teach in 1996.  I taught 2nd grade at HCS from 1996 – 1998, and then returned to begin teaching Kindergarten in 2008.  Since that time I have greatly enjoyed teaching with my colleague and mentor, Miss Joyce Holstege.  Together we welcome a new class of learners into the HCS family every year.  Despite its unique set of circumstances, Kindergarten continues to be a blessed adventure in my life!
