Bio: I was raised in West Michigan and attended Hope PRCS and Covenant Christian High School.  I received my bachelors degree in mathematics education from GVSU in 1996.  In the fall, I was hired to teach junior high mathematics and bible at Heritage.  During my 11 years of teaching, I earned a masters degree in education with a mathematics emphasis.  Mathematics has always been a fascinating subject to me!  In December, 2006, I was hired to be the administrator of Heritage, and I took up that role in June, 2007.  In subsequent years, I enrolled at Michigan State University, took classes to earn a masters in education with a P-12 school leadership emphasis, and graduated in December, 2010.

Teaching and learning is a love and passion of mine.  The Lord has created a world with many interesting parts to it, and He has called us to have dominion over them (Genesis 1).  Part of that dominion includes daily growing in knowledge of the creation, and thus of Him.  We can do so in many ways including by lessons in the classroom, by field trips into the creation, and by reading.

The Lord has blessed my wife and I with 2 sons and 2 daughters.  Together, we love to camp and travel.  We’ve been to many state parks in Michigan and surrounding states.  When able, we enjoy hiking and biking and love to play yard games as well.

Bio: Hi! I am Erika Aalsma. I moved to Hudsonville, from Randolph, WI, 26 years ago when I started teaching at Heritage. Since then my husband, Jamie, my parents, and some of my siblings have joined me here. Jamie and I are members of Georgetown PRC.

During my years in Michigan, I have been privileged to be a part of the Heritage Christian community for all 26 years.  I taught 3rd grade for 25 of those years and have been immensely blessed by the relationships with students and staff that have been a result of that work.  This year I transitioned to an administrative position; both as Director of Educational Support and Assistant Administrator for K-4.  I am thankful for the school community of parents, students, and staff that make up Heritage.  It has been such a joy to be part of the Heritage family.
