LOST A BOOK?
If a book is lost or damaged beyond fixing it must be paid for. The library will determine the replacement cost and let you know the amount. Send the payment to school marked Attention Library. Payment is refundable if a lost book is found and returned on or before the last day of the current school year.
We try hard to ensure that quality books are available in our library: however, we cannot catch everything that might be objectionable. If your child brings home a book that you feel should not be in our library please notify the librarian . You will be asked to return the book with a completed form of“Reconsideration of Library Materials” (available from the librarian). The complaint will be reviewed by the librarians and the grade appropriate teachers and you will be notified of their decision and reason.
The Heritage Christian School library is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM for students.
Grades K – 6 students visit the library once a week with their class to listen to a story or book promotion, practice library skills, and check out materials. Study hall students may come during their class (with teacher permission) to check out books.
Kindergarten students are allowed to check out one book. Students in grades 1 through 3 may check out two books and students in grade 4 through 6 may check out three. Books are loaned for two weeks.
In addition, students in grades 3-6 may play chess in the winter months during noon hour and participate in a chess tournament.
